Blogger Workshop

This page is for our teacher workshop about Blogger. I'll post things I think are helpful! Notice that these have to be edited as part of one long page and not individual posts that I write.

My presentation: Connecting Your Teens to Your Teacher Page

Classroom Blog Planning  This is a handout you can print. It might help you think about what you end goal is with your blog. There is a techie answer to most any problem - once you decide what it is. Take a moment and think about what you can accomplish with a blog. Think about how it can simplify other tasks so that you have fewer daily commitments.

Click here to open a dropbox account. This is life-changing. No more looking for flash drives or having several versions of the same file on various computers! You won't be sorry. Here is a commercial for dropbox that explains it better. I saved this commercial in my dropbox public folder on my laptop at home. This way I can just right click and choose copy link to post it here for you! Dropbox commercial

Download Google Chrome  This is a good idea because occasionally another browser will not have every functionality with blogger or other google tools. (I mostly find this to be the case with goggle docs)

Need a google account? Yes you do! If you don't have one click on the link and create one.

Ready to Start? Visit the blogger.com home page and click the create blog button! Want step by step instructions? Here is a How To .pdf file
One of your first steps will be to name your blog.  Dream up a few options and then the site will lead you to check their availability.  THINK about these because your students will type this often AND you might want them to be able to find you on google (though you will link to your webpage).
